Designpreis Halle 2017 — »Time«
Bernhard Wilke — 30 758 400
The second is considered to be the base unit of time. One year has 30,758,400 seconds. On the pages of this book, 86,400 dots mark the period between sunrise and sunset, which changes every day. By taking each dot as one unit of time, the viewer can watch time as it passes.
This book is meant to be a cross between an appointment calendar and a diary of time. The special form intends to provoke a new awareness of time in its readers. How much time do I have? And how do I spend it?
Bernhard Wilke (*1981) works as a freelance communication designer in her own studio 'supernow' in Reutlingen, Germany.
